KT Roland is an award-winning author, speaker, and dedicated multiple myeloma advocate. A journalism graduate from Indiana University with certification in Social and Behavioral Research, she combines investigative precision with heartfelt storytelling to educate, inspire, and encourage others facing life's greatest challenges.
After being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2020, Roland transformed her personal journey into a mission of advocacy and awareness. Through her writing and educational outreach, she helps patients, caregivers, and families better understand the realities of living with an incurable blood cancer while offering hope grounded in honesty.
She is the author of the children's books Understanding Grandma's Battle with Multiple Myeloma and Grandma Doesn't Look Sick, which help young readers understand what it means to love someone living with chronic illness. Skywalk to Survival is her deeply personal memoir, recounting her fight against multiple myeloma during the COVID-19 pandemic and the unexpected purpose she found through adversity.
When she isn't writing, Roland shares evidence-based myeloma education through her advocacy work, speaks on patient empowerment, and continues researching human behavior and health communication.
